About

Spending most of her life living in rural Australia, Penelope has always sought inspiration and refuge in the Australian bush. It’s where she feels most connected to herself and her creativity.

Over the past 15 years Penelope has been focusing on developing a landscape painting practice.

“I spend a lot of time on country, observing and listening deeply to nature, taking inspiration from the land and  painting en plein air. I then further develop the pieces in my studio in Bangalow.

My art works document the changes I see in the landscape, most recently through my experience of both bushfires and floods.

I started working with clay in a sculptural form 3 years ago as I was drawn to the tactile nature of clay and found working in 3D was a very natural process that I really enjoyed.”
